Dinner plates and butter dishes along with the 16 oz. coffee mug that provided Sue with the fuel for a morning's work.
Prepared the slab roller and rolled out the clay between canvas to a thickness suitable for dinnerware (the top roller is adjustable).
Cleaned the canvas imprint off the clay with a scraper (actually a repurposed paint edger).
Cut out the shapes and draped them over the plaster molds Sue made and rounded the edges.
Sue finishing up another party size chip & dip.
Glazing & Firing
What the glaze area looks like after 2 intense days of glazing. Yikes! Get out the power washer!
Ware rack of glazed pots ready to be loaded.
Ray loading the stoneware kiln. A job that takes most of the day to get the right pots in the right places and lifting and balancing some mighty heavy shelves on 3 kiln posts each.
Kiln half loaded.
